Robust Air Sweep Mechanism

Double Piston Combination

You can also make the most of your air cannon by going for a double piston combination fitting loosely in the cannon's cylinders. A no-tight tolerance fitting creates pressure behind the two pistons and pushes them against a valve seat to create a reliable seal. When you use this combination, there is no need for additional O-rings to keep the hydraulic fluid within the piston chambers, reducing the cost of assembly and installation. Moreover, the setup and absence of O-rings eliminate the risk of clogging, jamming or sticking during operation. O-rings also have operational limitations because they can dry out and crack, losing the desired sealing capability.

Stainless Steel Tank

When using air cannons, you need to be wary of the working environment. Lots of moisture, harsh chemicals and exposure to other elements can degrade the air cannon materials. Specifically, it helps to pay attention to the material used to make the high-pressure tank because it houses the most significant operational hazard. Go for reinforced stainless steel tanks to guarantee against physical damage resulting from exposure to harmful elements. Galvanised aluminium tanks can also suffice for light-duty blasting applications. The galvanic coating excels at corrosion resistance.
